THE FALLEN CHILDREN

Project type: INSTALLATION

Date: March, 2022

The Fallen Children reflects the harsh reality faced by children with a flawed system that fails to provide support to go against human trafficking. Showing the necessary steps to prevent the trauma and psychological consequences inflicted upon young victims by human trafficking becomes their well-being. The installation's use of wire creates a visual: towering boxes symbolize the structure of power, while the wire figures portray the struggling children attempting to grasp hope and freedom. The hand-picking out of the children represents the reaching for these individuals and the corruption of the system. I used only wire to make this installation to show a jail-like setting. To capture the feelings and emotions of the children through the wired words. The representation captures the challenges and obstacles faced by these young victims, emphasizing their attempts to break free from exploitation. The wire figures, in their vulnerable state, show a sense of resilience, reminding viewers of the urgency to support and protect these children from the horrors of human trafficking.
